This site is quite useful for finding equivalent sizes as I think pushing the car off a cliff would take more effort!

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Re: Aceca for sale
November 13, 2024, 08:33:13
I'm pretty sure this was for sale by AC Heritage but also included a rebuilt replacement one digit out Weller engine, which would now appear missing as I found the listing comment " needs minor changes such as the engine change" hilarious.

I got one recently on ebay ( king dick for under £10

The forum has a useful search function, and this is what I found when I quickly searched steering rack

I was thinking more about your issue- your not very clear about what gears are crunching as the typical mosss box has no synchro on first, and can have poor synchro on 2nd, with double declutching beinng required.
Many ( jaguar/ Morgan owners) change their box for a full synchro replacement.
It could be your clutch is fine but lack of synchro or way you are changing her means clusters still moving inside.
Many say it's sensitive to oil type ( not sure if your in a hot country or uk) but Redline MTL suggested. Again need to take care if running overdrive as they can share oil in some cases.

Oil would make the clutch slip.
I'm assuming you have checked the clutch plate operation via the inspection plate.
There are various things that could be your issue
Type of gearbox oil used
Synchro
Clutch release bearing
Clutch plate and diaphragm
Gearbox input bearing to crankshaft.
Usually the gearbox can be removed and leave engine in car though a lot of the interior may have to be removed.
Someone with an Aceca / who's done it before will hopefully answer your question.
You don't say if it's a standard or lightweight gearbox.

Thanks-I'll follow up.  It contains diethyl ether.
I also found this so possible to do it yourself but fiddly

Does anyone repair these capillary sensors?

A flat configuration ---horizontal rods, but engine is vertical. Someone who wrote the add has verbal diarrhea, plagiarism at its best (revealing utter crap)

I do believe that AC built a flat six but its not in this car.

Surprised I don't see Subaru in engine bay. Lightbulb moment-,may be a good aftermarket swap or a lexus V8.

Has anyone tried data logging on the EEC-IV?
I did read a Bosch 1300/ snap on MT 2500 / actron elite could be used with the correct adaptor to log OBD1 data streams from the sensors feeding the EEC-IV. I don't believe that the obd1-obd2 adapters work unless your analyser can read obd1.
I'm not interested in fault code reading as can do that, and I can also back probe the sensors with a dvm easily, but wanted in particular to look at the long and short term injector fuel trim values.

I could couple up a moates quarter horse but really just want something simple.

I see from searching the threads ( "ball joint") that AC Heritage did have some new ones but that was quite a long time ago.
I don't know what other cars had them fitted, but they were apparently Quinton hazel manufactured.( no longer in business)

I no longer need a regulator. Plenty available in states if required.
I was able to make up a fuel rail pressure tester to fit the Schrader valve connection to confirm when on idle with high vacuum the regulator does indeed drop the system fuel pressure correctly.
