Afraid so......head gasket failed, so steam rather than oil, which was the (minor) good news.
Car will be u/s for a while, which is a shame, as it was going to go on various VSCC events.
Still, he does have another 9 Alfas to play with!

Hi Ted, I'll be there as well, attending to my chums Alfa Monza. Easy to spot, it's two tone blue, not red!

Hi, when I added an adjustable fuel regulator and associated pipework to my Greyhound, I used Demon Tweeks, who were very helpful. Worth a try...

Hi, I'll be there on Sunday, with the Historic Grand Prix Car folks....can be found in the main paddock (down towards Druids) at their big red articulated catering lorry...loads of HGPCA banners flying!

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Greyhound steering rack
September 03, 2015, 12:01:10
Thanks for the updates, chaps. Got some back and forward play on the steering column (about 1/16") which is definitely coming from the pinion, not a loose bottom pinch bolt and also movement on the track rods. Not huge, but thought I'd pull it out the winter (after Goodwood) and get it sorted.

Many thanks for all the advice.

Looks like it has an earlier, transitional, honeycomb radiator on it. Same as my old 1933 tourer....what do you think?

Hi chaps. When I got a new front screen for my Greyhound, I used Old School Windscreen company in Surrey, who ere not too expensive and got it to me in short order and it fitted perfectly...contact them at www.oldschoolwindscreens.co.uk and see if they can help.

Hi all, looks like I'm OK for now- compression is 8.5 bar across the field (about 115/120psi for old lags) so don't think I need one for now, many thanks for the input, chaps! Just need to talk to a wiz on Solex tuning at home, now.....

Hi John,

You can put me down for the Double Twelve stand, along with the Greyhound, if you like...

Hi John, I'd love to come, if they want an original looking Greyhound!

Was at the Shere Hill Climb yesterday and a chap rolled up in a black Cobra (well, same shape); Le Mans hardtop, but no badges anywhere. I was told it had been imported from the States and was a genuine 60's Cobra, lots of history, etc. Then he opened the bonnet. AC Thames Ditton chassis plate clearly stamped AEX1107 and a CLB engine number.
Maybe it is a rebodied Ace, maybe not, but sure isn't a Cobra!

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Greyhound steering rack

Anyone have an idea as to the makers of the post war Greyhound steering rack? Fixing bolts to the chassis run parallel to the rack, not through clamps.

   Any help appreciated!

General Forum / 2012 New Year lunch
August 25, 2011, 15:10:09
Good afternoon, one and all. Surrey Section is proposing to reactivate it's Christmas lunch at The Barley Mow pub in West Horsley. we defer it until January to allow members to recover from Christmas/New Year excess...

It will be on Sunday 29th January 2012 in The Malt House at the rear of the pub. Doors open at 12 noon and we will sit down at 1pm.

Anyone interested in attending, please drop me a line on michaelfrayn@aol.com and I'll put you on the list to get the menu when it becomes available. Cost not yet known, but not a kings ransom.

Look forward to receiving lots of emails!

   Regards
