General Forum / Not so Speedy Cables
July 16, 2020, 16:55:16
I stripped my Buckland's dash out at the beginning of lockdown, after calling Speedy Cables to check they were operating. I wanted everything checked and recalibrating and it seemed an opportune moment as all the wiring is being replaced anyway.

After 3 months, they have finally called me following repeated attempts for an update, with a price almost double the original telephone blind guestimate. (I don't have a problem with that.) And the news that it would be 8 weeks at the earliest. I realise we have to accept new normals, but I cannot trust someone with their attitude. I can see the pandemic ending before I get them back.

Needless to say they are being returned.

Any recommendations gratefully received.

James

Hi Richard,

I have a car in reasonably advanced state of rebuild. More than welcome to come and see it in south Bucks. I can't imagine the seat frame would be too tough to replicate/fabricate. Mine is believed to be a Thames Ditton 2 litre sports as opposed to a genuine Buckland, but pretty sure the seats are the same in all the vehicles I have seen.

Good luck,

James

Graham,

I got Berkshire radiators in Caversham to recore mine...did a great job, for a surprisingly reasonable price.

Gary,

I used Berkshire Radiators in Reading to do mine. Gave me the option of original core or new improved design. Very helpful, and did a good job for very sensible money.

Good luck,

James
