Alternatively, can you buy the plexiglass versions, have a glass shop cut and drill a glass version using the plexiglass as a template, and then attach them with the brackets that came on the plexiglass versions?

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Moss Gear box

My very limited understanding from a conversation I had today with Nigel Winchester is that the Volvo M41 4 speed with electric overdrive is the most appropriate solution to replace a Moss Gearbox in my A C 2.6 (RSX 5018). Assuming I understood Nigel's explanation, to install an M 41,  one needs only a custom input shaft adapter and a sligt modification to the bell housing. However, usintg a Toyota or Ford transmission requires some major surgery to the transmission tunnel as well as possibly the chassis. Is this a uiversal view? If so, the M 41 Volvo transmission seems the correct ( and easiest) solution. It also seems that rebuilding the Moss gear box with Moss parts is not the way to go. Any thoughts or coets?

I'm getting in this post quite late. I don't ahve this 2nd gear synchro problem with my A C Bristol (BEX 490) but I definitely ahve it with my A C 2.6 (RSX 5018).

Are all thegearboxes in the 2.6 cars the same (in theory) or did they use differe=nt boxes in different czars. They arte clearly different than the geqr box in BEX 490.

I own  RSX5018 and BEX490 and am looking to purchsse a pair of what I have heard referred to as toliet bowls- the chrome  escutcheon pieces on the bonnet where the bonnet lock key is inserted to open and close it. Our US supplier, Ron Leonard, says the replacemnent units he has in stock are of such poor quality (chrome is bad) he won't sell them. Is there anyone in the UK that supplies these parts (good quality) and if so do they have an email address?

I would like to purchase glass wind wings for my 1959 A C Bristol (straight wind screen). In the USA all I can find are plexiglass wind wings with Cobra on them. From years back, I think there was a guy in the UK who owned a comnpany named Brasscraft. Does he supply the glass wind wings and chrome brackets that connect to the wind screen frame? If so, how do I get in touch with him. If not is there another company that does provide them?

I own A C Bristol BEX 490 and am rebuilding the engine. Can anyone provide me with the correct paint manufacturer and color code? I understand it is a light sage gray. Is it the same clor as the block on an Austin Healey BJ8?
