Hello All,
Just to answer some of the questions raised.
Mike -  The AC CRS model is most welcome to attend.
This event - "Cobras At The Castle" has been organised in conjunction with the Cholmondeley Pageant Of Power Team to celebrate the 'First Fifty Years Of The Cobra'.   It is not an ACOC organised event, but  ACOC members can certainly attend.  Discounted tickets are available, more details to follow shortly.
Nick - The Competition Class specifically for Cobras is now full and comprises many illustrious period Cobras piloted by some very well known drivers.
So far we have models from the Mk I Cobra right through to the 427 Cobra and several interesting derivatives.  There is certainly room for more Cobras for the display,at this stage, and I am particularly looking for further Mk IV models to attend.
I would however like to thank all the Cobra Owners both here and abroad for their encouraging interest to date.

If you have an interest in Cobras, but want to see and hear them in close-up action, then this could be the event for you !
Hope to see you this summer (June 16/17),   Richard.

Sorry, I forgot to mention, for existing ACOC members there is also an excellent article written by Caroline Bridges in the September 2011 "ACtion" magazine p.22  regarding her other half, Bill Bridges and his exploits with their Cobra at this year's  Cholmondeley  Pageant Of Power.  I believe the "Hairy Canary" will return in 2012 !
   Richard.

As you know, 2012 is a special year for the 'Cobra' which will be celebrating 50 years since its inception by Carroll Shelby and AC Cars Ltd. back in 1962
To mark this important occasion, 'COBRAS' will be taking centre stage at the spectacular "Cholmondeley Pageant Of Power" (pronounced Chumley) , see www.CPOP
The weekend 15/16/17 June 2012 will see for the first time an exclusive Class for invited Cobras to compete in.
All other Cobras attending will be displayed in the paddock at the foot of Cholmondeley Castle and will take part in the parade. This is set to be a memorable event and a once-only experience.
It is hoped that some of the "works" drivers who originally raced these "venomous" sports cars will be in attendance over the weekend.

The special package includes the following:-
   Weekend Paddock Ticket
Full hospitality in the Drivers'Club to include breakfast, lunch and tea on both days
Lord Cholmondeley's Drinks Party on Sat. evening
Supper in the Drivers' Club on Sat. evening followed by
The Cholmondeley Fireworks Concert and Military Tattoo
Preferential rates have been secured at a number of hotels in the area.

Places are strictly limited so if you are interested in attending and displaying or competing in your AC/Shelby Cobra 260/289/427 or Mk IV Cobra and later models, please register your initial interest by contacting Richard Wright on 01270-780034 or email

If you are not familiar with the Cholmondeley experience, here's a small sample of what was said about the 2011 Pageant
"wonderful job, wonderful atmosphere - fabulous event" - Derek Bell
"The Pageant was exceptional" - Autocar
"congratulations - truly remarkable atmosphere and programme" - CEO Jaguar Land Rover
"Breitling are proud to be involved with such a prestigious event" - Breitling

There will be attractive sponsorship opportunities available for this event and companies who may be interested should contact Becci Kannreuther M: 07720-292940 or becci.kannreuther@cpop.co.uk

I very much look forward to welcoming 50 Cobras !
