Alan,

Thanks again for the contact - here's a picture of the expert (Pete) at work - couldn't meet a nicer, more enthusiastic guy and delivered a high quality hard top:

General Forum / AC 212 S/C to France!

Hey Bruce - thanks again for your advice - had a few issues with the battery dieing a few weeks close to the trip, but a thorough check over from DK gave me some confidence. The re-weld of one of the exhaust side mounts was a precaution, but the car (other than that) was just phenomenal - driving down the S-bends in Andorra flat out was something else.

Re the windows - they fully cover the window aperture and along with the window rubber really do keep water out (it *dropped* it down on the way to the channel tunnel last Saturday - and the car remained dry). Along with the O-windows, they give enough cooling - when sunny, it's a case of taking them out - a 2 minute job.

Will try to make the Surrey meet next month - you'll have to hear it now & would be great to see the new engine in your car!

   Cheers,

   James

Thanks [:D] I've never seen the other 212 S/C and have had various rumours that it's black/yellow and LHD/RHD - I sometimes question if it even exists - I've never seen a single photo of it.

   Does anyone know?

you need a "hard" "top"

I got mine when I went to the LMC in 2010 and my better half (pictured) thought it would be a better idea as it would keep her hair in check....cue 38 degree sunshine.....

PS Keith - I/other half are up for the full tour for LMC next year - please keep us in the loop - have some big plans for the 212 S/C in the next few months

PPS - I have wet weather gear that I can lend for the LMC trip [8D]

I think this will be a good event when it takes off, I wont be there as I will be at Brands at the end of the month for the Masters series, would go for the day if you are offering me a lift, with a contributiuon to the fuel costs [:)]

Aaron - would love to give you a lift, but Mrs. Duggan has already reserved the passenger seat & not sure you'd like a trip up to Donington in the boot [:p]

Will be sure to get some photo's taken and get them posted up here [:)]

Hey Bruce,

Saw the car (+ John's) when I arrived, but couldn't find either of you!

Next trip out will be in the 212 S/C to Donnington for the Historics on the 30th & then the Goodwood Supercar Breakfast the next day.

Managed to get a few pics of the morning - very enjoyable:

I'll be along to this in the morning.

Picked the AC Cobra up from DK Engineering this morning, but forgot about it running out of tax, so it's going to have to stay in the garage. I've had some racing exhausts fitted to it, so they're as good as straight pipes from the turbo's back - sounds like thunder now! I travelled 15 miles back from the garage and had ringing in my ears!!

Anyway - see you in the morning - I'll be in this:

I'm signed up in the 212 S/C - does anyone know the format of the day/what to expect from the "designated" parking?
