I should have specified AC Ace! Obviously Cobras/Daytonas sell for more  ::)

The first LeMans Ace, AE205, as documented in the latest ACtion, just sold at Bonhams Monterey auction for $764K all in. I saw this car go thru the restoration at Gassman Automotive, and they did an absolutely amazing job of bringing it back to LeMans spec. A well deserved price, and a record for an AC?

As mentioned above, it is the same as the XK120. Easy to find.

Nigel, here's a picture that I hope helps. My washer knob is the long black handle just to the left of the ignition switch. For some reason the image won't show up in the post, so including the link.

Nigel, mine is incorporated right into the dash. I will get a picture and post.

My car (AEX127) is also fitted with the windscreen washer option, and has two separate nozzles for the washer.

BEX 340 recently sold at auction, and the description states it is accompanied by an "AC Cars Certificate of Authenticity". I have never even heard of this certification before, can anyone lighten me? Who actually issues them?

Here is a link to some of the pros and cons of silicone versus conventional. Pay special attention to the paragraph discussing trying to put silicone fluid into a system that's already had conventional fluid.

An AC chassis that is stated as built for an Electric Vehicle prototype was just a no-sale on BAT at over $37K US. I was never even aware that AC was thinking about an EV. Anyone know more history on these?

Maybe this should be in the Cobra forum?

Looks like the car comes with a hard top - did AC ever produce hard tops for the Ace? Or is this an aftermarket one? Almost looks like a top for an SP250.

Question - wouldn't the 3-speed box be the period correct box? Later 5 speed of course is an upgrade, owners choice!

Thanks Keith! I assume you mean Daniel Rapley? I just looked, didn't see the car on his site.

BEX208 just popped up for sale at Gullwing. Currently running an unknown-brand 6 cylinder, but comes with some Bristol Engine parts, including the correct matching-numbers head.

H&H has an Aceca Bristol (BE681) and what is purported to Ace 2.6 RS5012 coming up for auction later this month. Don't know if anyone here owns either car, curious what the clubs position is on RS5012?

Just saw this Ace coming up for auction:

https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/mo22/monterey/lots/r0011-1955-ac-ace/1229162

Heavily modified, RHD, and the number they list (AE901680) of course doesn't make sense. Anyone recognize this car?
