Thanks for that Musicman. I have tried to adjust the free play on the clutch pedal but it is at maximum and free play seems Ok at about an inch. The strange thing is that it has only occurred since the oil change.

I am having problems engaging gear when engine is running, but if clutch is engaged with gear selected before starting then after starting the gears will change without problem until neutral is selected again. This has only occurred since changing the gearbox oil, l have used SAE 30 oil as recommended. I am assuming that the gearbox is a Moss and this is the correct oil.

Hi

Does anyone have a full wiring diagram for an early 2 litre (1948) or at least one for the dashboard?

Hi

Thanks, l have looked at the 2 litre site, all the dimensions are there but looks like a lot of sewing. l was just hoping there was some-one who would supply them ready made. Looks like l will have to sharpen my scissors.

Hi Gary

I have sent you a message via e-mail link but pictures will still not send. If you reply using my e-mail address then l can send photos. directly to you. But l will have a go at resizing photos. for future posts.

I shall certainly take up Bob's offer and join the club today.

Hi Tom

There is a pump in the car but there is no brand name or any writing on it. I have tried to send photos. but the site will not allow. A rear window blind is still fitted and seems to work.

Hi Tom

Thanks for your reply. I am keen to find out as much as possible about the car as it seems to be a good unmolested example, although l would not describe the current colour as grey. I was told that it was repainted in a shade of green very close to the original.
Thanks to Gary l have now located the dip stick and oil filter, which is the early type. The AC still has all the tools in place and even the oil can and grease gun under the bonnet but l am missing the bonnet fixing bracket under the windscreen. I assume this was removed to change the battery and never replaced, do you know where l would be able to get a replacement?

Hi Gary

I have looked at Ian Strange's excellent site but it does not mention basic things like where the dip-stick or oil filter are or the fact that the petrol tank has a tap on it.

Hi Gary

Thanks for the reply. Yes l did buy the AC from Brightwells as a none runner but have now got it running. l will need to do the usual recommissioning before using it in anger.
Do you know where l could obtain any information on maintenance etc. for this model?
I have not yet joined the club as the subscription runs from March, so l will join then.
I live near Stafford in Staffordshire.

Hi, l have recently bought AC 2 litre reg. number HAX666 and it has come to me with no paperwork whatsoever, not even a V5. l was told it has been owned by 1 family from new and is known to the AC club.
Does anyone have any knowledge of this car? l am new to AC ownership so will be asking lots of questions in the future.
