Another question : where can I find an engine oil dip stick  for an Ace engine?

You could try PMing Robin A Woolmer and Rod Briggs on here.

AC Weller Engine / Re: Start up

"It was in a shocking state of neglect and proved to have been bodged and abused before the neglect."

Unfortunately that is the story with so many of these engines, when they went through the era when they were relatively worthless compared to the cost of repairing them properly.

Great to see some real progress on the car, Colin.

Graham.

If you log in to the Members Area then go to Model Directory and select Ace and then Articles, there is a rear brake overhaul article which gives the Seal Kit numbers.

I believe that AC Cars used Bridge of Weir leather if that is of any help.

If I recall it is Old Crock.

Sorry I can't help, John. I've looked in all my old reference books to no avail. Have you talked to Clive Bowyer, he seems the most knowledgeable on the vintage cars? Graham.

Hi. If the car is in the UK you need to get an MOT on the car and then apply to put the registration on retention, it can then be sold and transferred to another car. Further rules here:

Good to meet old faces and new and catch up, as well as see some great cars.

Our thanks to the organisers and members for a great day out.

If I recall correctly they were sourced from the Jaguar XJ6 of the period, and they were crap from new. I experienced complete headlight failure at night and it was not funny. I would start with David Manners or SNG Barret and see what it available.

A lovely humanist ceremony today which really encapsulated Adrian's life, his love for Liz and passion for cars, especially ACs.

The ACOC was represented by 9 people, but sadly no ACs were on parade.
