This is why my door is not closing then! I am using 1.4mm furflex around the window.

Good for the left door, but this thickness doesn't let the right door closing..
To make the door close, I was planning to use the furflex without the core, so it is softer and thinner, but may be there originally there was the 6mm piping?
I actually not sure anymore about the different trimming that goes around the doors. I have seen different set up.
how are you planning to go? what do you think the original trimming was?

A - I belive there was no trimming
B - I think there was Furflex
C - I have Furflex, but i think it was 6mm Piping
D - I dont know
E - I dont know

Hello All!
here some photos of what i found yesterday when lifting my head...
the Car was burning water (about 1 liter per 100km), so i checked first the obvious things (pressure test radiator, and no leak, New radiator cap, and water pump), water pump is leaking, but that is another story....

I found cylinder 6 plug wet with water and so i decided to pull the head off.

I found rust in cylinder 5 and 6, confirming water coming in.

Cylinder 5 sleve is 2 thou below clinder bloc level. the other are 10 thou over.

I would like to kindly ask you what my cylinder head gasket tells you.

The cylinder block seems fine to me. not much corrosion, but the back of the block is full of slush.

What do you think of the figure 8 gaskets at the bottom of the sleeves? they seems to be flaking apart. They looks the paper type.

by reading on other section of forum it seems I have a too low protrusion. I see up to 30 thou is suggested! when the book says 6 thou.

How do you suggest to takle this? i belive at this stage the engine must come off...

Water pump is out.
In the end I believe in the end the issue was simply the fuel line that was on the way!

Regarding the water leak, I think the problem is that the surface of the bronze thrust washer is scored, and the carbon ring too.
I have new carbon ring, but it seems quite difficult to change it. So my plan is to try to fix the old one on the shaft somehow and turn it in the lathe to surface it flat.
For the bronze thrust washer, I plan to cut it flat by fixing the pump body on a table cutter. Hopefully the spring will compensate for the little that will be cut.

The bearing seems in good condition. But the shaft has some resistance as I believe that instead of a felt washer, a rubber oil seal has been installed previously behind the bearing. But I would prefer not to take off the bearing. So I might leave it in.
The oil seal might have been a later upgrade of the pump? it is listed in the pump spare scheme, even if not pictured.
In the spare drawing there are two felt washers, but may be later the inner one became a rubber oil seal?

The only think that might be lose, is the shaft in the rear bush. What do you think? it is a bit scored too.

I am not able to measure the ID of the bush, but is should be 1/2. but I don't know the real size.

The shaft is 0.498 thou, so I have theoretically a clearance of 2 thou. but I don't have the tools to measure it.
