Fred's car is white with blue stripes and blue interior. If I knew how to put pics on this site, we would all see his superb mk iv.

Fred, my brother saw your car at a show on Hilton Head this fall. He sent me several pictures of the engine compartment and the interior. Nice. I have in Michigan #158, also a 1986. Could you let me know what carburator and heads are now installed? Mine has alloy heads and the engine uses the old firing order. Mike

Rick, are you saying that the cluch cable needs to be replaced? I was hoping there is a way to fix the existing cable, it acts like a slipping cam adjuster or something. The carburater thing is strange. The car last fall ran the best with the 750 cfm holley but maybe a lot of problems were disguises by the bad dist. The two 600 cfm carbs that were tried last fall were the street version. They caused the engine to run the worst.

The car came back yesterday from the race engine builder-finally. They found the biggest problem to be a bad distrib-replaced. Also they could not get the new Holley 680 cfm avenger to perform just right and replaced with a Holley double pumper 600cfm. The engine now runs cleanly and is strong to 4000 rpm whre it screams to 6500 rpm. I might have a problem dealing with the 4000 rpm rush but the car is now seriously fast. I would appreciate advise on the one remaining drivability issue-clutch adjustment. several times I have had the engagement point adjusted to the center only to have it drop to the floorboard the following day. It drags only slightly down there but makes fast shifts difficult. Why wont it say after adjustment? please help

I saw the black car at the rm auction in fort lauderdale in feb. 2007. It did not sell. It would take a lot of money to get that car back to decent condition. A great deal more money to make it nice. Maybe it is fairly priced for its condition.

The 225/55/16 front tires are 1/2inch taller than the stock 225/50/16. I put the 55 series tire on because I liked the look of more sidewall on the car. The rear 245/50/16 tires are 1/4inch shorter and slightly narrower than the stock 255/50/16. bf goodrich does not make a 255/50/16 in the kdw series so I went slightly smaller on the rear. I could have put the bf goodrich gforce sport tire on the car in 255/50/16, but the kdw is a much better tire. I got the look I wanted and terrific handling with the kdw tires
