Have recently rebuilt AC engines. If you need a new block, have it checked for porosity.

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Aceca doors

Unfortunately I have thrown back a wide range of diseases. It was only last weekend that I was able to resume work on my Aceca. Well, I have both doors disassembled again and the locks expanded. The play between the gears is, however, very low (<1mm), so I am unsure whether and how I should proceed further. Could you possibly overtake the locks for me? (Of course against payment). I would like to continue with other work, because I do not know at the moment how much time still remains to me (2nd and 3rd August OP Prostate Cancer)

So sorry to read this - very best wishes for the future.

Some 35 years ago when I had to source a starter motor for an Anzani engine, I found that one usually fitted to a Land Rover did the job. Apologies but I can't recall which model.

Some years ago, I found Comlec Units very helpful in sourcing a replacement starter in another vintage car. Make sure you give them as much info as possible!

John, how wonderful to see the car in 'before' condition.
What is the story behind its state of preservation, when was it last running?

What a nicely written piece, and all credit to the organisers for getting together a reasonably representative set of cars.

If you don't have any luck with a member here,  May I suggest that you contact the VSCC in Chipping Norton,  they have an excellent library and one of their Library volunteers (Paul Spencer) has a Sociable,  I'm sure he would be pleased to help.

Having the forum open to non members does not cost the club anything.  If you close the forum to non members , those non members are unlikely to join the club and you will deprive members of the knowledge of those people.
Yes I have an interest in AC's. It was in a past life, (12/40 sports, 16/70 special, 16/80 comp, Cobra), but I don't now want to be a member of yet another club, receive unwanted post etc and pay for it.
I fail to understand what the problem is.

See also Vintage Tyres web site for actual tyre diameters. Although the sectional shape might be more relevant

General Forum / A new monthly meeting ?

SBB,  I expect you will have offended a number of people! (I'm not so sensitive)  I have no idea how many who have posted on this thread are non members.  I am a non member, having parted with my last AC over 20 years ago, but had been a member for the previous 20 years.  The forum being open to all should be of benefit to members, I hope that on occasions I might have given some helpful information.
