The best point for the oil pressure gauge connection is as near to the entry point to the engine as possible, therefore after any extra oil filters you have fitted!

Note the type 9 gearbox has a long remote, so you are likely to need a very short gearstick remote as you have a long six cylinder engine!
Might be worth checking with other ford engine owners as to what gearbox was used?

I would expect a Ford type 9 will suit which is a five gear box, they did four gear boxes earlier, your best bet is to contact Burton Power who specialise in Ford parts, these boxes are getting scarce now as they were used in many specials.
You will need to make sure you have the correct bell housing for it!

We have all gone through the cycle of retiring, not having a secretary as well as the key functions of marketing, engineering & manufacturing experts etc is quite a change of life, we all had to go through the learning curve again , have to do writeups ourselves in the process of learning to type etc. I  have to do all the engineering, sourcing & work with suppliers, deal with customers,  make quotes , draft & maintain spreadsheets, deal with shipping  , invoicing , then help club members/ owners & their workshops regarding the Weller engine & so on.
Being head of the Owners Club must be a privilege, not a burden!

The best place to jack the Aceca & Ace are the main chassis tubes underneath the front & rear spring supports, the only problem is you would tend to jack the front & rear of the car! The outriggers running each side are as you indicate not very robust!
Not sure it would be safe to jack up the suspension wishbones as they can be damaged.
I am not an Ace or Aceca owner so you really need some owners experience!

Dear Jam2
You clearly had a big commitment to AC cars, i do understand the issue of maintaining interest & contact, Club Fees mount up & some are very expensive, AC Owners Club is unique having an open Forum, i hope you continue to enjoy keeping contact.

Christopher
You may be right, i am happy to help people needing support, i have never asked if they are in the Club.
Often i do have mechanics needing information & support which is given freely.
The Club is small , so more members would assist.

Maybe the club should make the forum members only!

Ball Races do have classifications particularly deep groove types used on the hubs!

One of the treatments i do is to anodise the aluminium before painting or further treatment, it is a bit laborious but worthwhile!

I believe the Austin Healey BN1 & 2  & 3000 cars have similar silencers to the AC Ace/Aceca, might be worth a look at a suitable site for an exhaust!
