The Weller engine  basically has the strainer you have removed but a separate filter is often fitted like you have after the oil strainer, so if you want good filtering of the oil the separate filter is best ,  I would not re-fit the strainer as it does very little & rely on an independent cartridge spin on modern filter similar to that you have.
We use a 15 micron spin on filter cartridge which you can obtain from 'Think Automotive'  in Twickenham.
Some people fit a paper cartridge element but you will need an adapter to change the oil flow or the cartridge can burst, so best use an independent spin on unit!
The pressure reduction is before the filters so best to have one full flow spin on filter unit & do away with the existing strainer.

What a great looking 16/80, very helpful picture details, i note that it has, as expected a water jacket conversion which is slightly different from those done in UK as it has an intermediate plate between the crankcase & water jacket sections, if it drives like it looks it will be fantastic!

I expect your ratchet teeth have worn & the pawl etc, Gerry Hawkridge (Hawk Cars) should have some in stock.

WDS Components Ltd Have Star Knobs in Aluminium & Stainless steel which are blank so you can Drill & Tap them to your thread seize & type
They Are called 'Star Knobs' & have different number of lobes, that will be the lowest cost & should be lower & better finished !

Why is it necessary to have another separate Vintage register to that which exists?
Could they be combined?

Don't forget they are BSF threads, there are good UK suppliers but Imperial thread versions are more difficult to find!

It might be worth checking the springs are bolted up well on the centre location of the springs, if that is OK then the advice given seems appropriate & have the springs reconditioned as one of the leaves might be broken & need re tempering, you will need to find a competent cart spring maker to re heat treat  the springs to the correct specification & profile!

The Water Pumps will fit all Post War Weller Engines.
They are basically made to the AC Drawings with modified bearings, shafts & pulleys!

Maybe i should start advertising my new Engine components, I am probably the only company making completely new water pumps for PVT & Post war Weller engines, the castings are significantly superior material with machining to a much higher standard than the original AC Company parts.
The AC Company Post War water pumps corrode quite badly & have a support bronze bush running in water unlubricated, we use a modern sealed stainless double row bearing with modern water seals, the first pump was made for a 2- litre saloon about 17 years ago & is believed to be still running well.
I understand we are the only company making completely new parts , a certain repair company is advertising for old water pump bodies which we would never do as we have our own casting patterns & use LM25TF aluminium.
All of our engine parts are made from best quality material & machined to a high standard, castings are made from our own tooling.
Owners should have confidence that new engine parts are available for these wonderful engines.

The AC Sprint was always held in high regard by the members of the VSCC & felt it was better run than the VSCC Sprint which was generally two weeks earlier.
November was & still is a risky period for weather, so moving it forward was a good move except it is at risk of clashing with other events.
As a spectator i do enjoy the event particularly when some of my friends competed in some interesting cars.
It would be a loss to not have the event, if a more suitable date could be found which does not clash with the other major events but in earlier months for better weather it would be great!
I do not believe the AC Sprint is well advertised so maybe it could be so in the VSCC, Frazer Nash & Aston Martin clubs.
Goodwood is a great venue even though a bit expensive to hire, the Club should continue with the Sprint.

On the topic of AC Monthly magazines, i do not believe it should be changed, it is well produced & presented, it does however need more input from the owners & specialists!
Most other clubs with the exception of the Frazer Nash club are considerably more expensive, the VSCC stopped supplying monthly magazines & fees cost about £100, the Aston Martin club at similar cost does provide monthly plus periodic quarterly magazines also it is supplemented by the Company output, cars are generally more valuable & higher volume of members which is still building as cars are still sold new!
The AC Owners Club needs more owner/Member activity & input, it is a great small club & needs more input on pre war cars from owners.

The Club Did Not even acknowledge the centenary of the Weller Engine to my knowledge , But i did by producing a special bronze plaque to attach to my new engines!

Clearly The Starter you have is not for the AC Weller Engine, however i developed the AC Weller starter in conjunction with WOSP in about 2005/6, they were able to supply a 2 kilowatt Denso Pre Engaged starter body & an extended shaft & 11 tooth gear & i designed & made the prototype which was fitted to one on my new engines fitted to a Frazer Nash, which is still working well today!
WOSP then used this information to reproduce them whilst i continued to make my own!
I believe the 2 kilowatt starters are now replaced with the 1.4 Kilowatt units for the AC engines.
