Hi Nick:

That's very helpful. I will check this week to get an estimate of how much making them here would cost and then I'll get back to you. Have a good week!

Hi Nick:

I've checked with my fabricator and it looks as though your bumpers, even with shipping, would cost less than he would charge. Can you provide a firmer estimate for them including shipping and packing? When do you expect they would be ready to ship?

Cheers

Yes, but they are hard to get to, being way under the car. If you could get a jack under the center of the front triangular steering mount and under the center of the differential, that would be good, but I don't think my arms are long enough! Otherwise under the main frame tubes just ahead of the rear A-arms and just behind the front ones might work if one can reach them. Of course the wheels are in the way ....

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Jacking points
May 10, 2022, 17:36:13
Hi all:

I wonder if the factory recommended any specific jacking points for the Aceca? I've got the original manual and jacking is not mentioned. It's important, because much of the undercarriage is far too weak to support the weight of the car and jacking will result in permanent damage. If none were factory recommended, what ones do owners recommend?

Thanks!

I'm interested. My rebuild is getting to the point of having to make the bumpers and this would be great! Any idea of the shipping cost from the UK to the USA?

Looks like it owes a lot to Series 1 E Types ...

And I thought my car was in poor shape!  :o

I'm trying to select the color to paint my 55 Aceca, and have photos of AE 822, which is apparently still the factory color of "mist green". I like it. Can anyone in the club provide a modern match for it? I've attached a photo. If this is not mist green, what color/paint is it?

3000ME Forum / 1985 3000ME for sale on BaT

No one else has posted about this car, so I will: There is a 1985 AC 3000ME for sale on Bring a Trailer. Auction ends in a little less than 5 days. Enjoy!

Yes. Seems nice, but not too much Ace left underneath.

My Aceca, bought as a stripped rolling chassis and body, was an attempted V8 conversion that was never finished. It has substantial modifications. It has a genuine leaf spring Cobra suspension, rear frame, brakes, and differential, grafted onto the Aceca frame. With it came an "extra" set of front A arms that we believe are from the same car that "donated" the rear end etc. I've attached a photo of the A arms – can anyone verify that the large arm looks like a Cobra part?
Thanks!

I'm looking for an Aceca rear quarter window hinge or part of one for my Aceca rebuild. This is the only window part I don't have. Either side will work. Anything would be helpful!

Thanks!

A few years ago we rebuilt the steering box ourselves in my Allard K3. Parts and clear instructions were readily available from this company, and it was not too difficult to accomplish the job.

Subsequent to my initial request for information, I discovered that the handbrake lever for Series II E Type 2+2 Jaguars (and only for that model) is very similar to the Aceca lever - unlike other British car levers that have the release button recessed in the end of the lever, this one has the "cap" button at the end. The lever is (I think) a bit shorter than the AC lever, though. Interestingly, this lever is not shown or listed differently in the Jag parts book.
