Dr Michael Dods is selling his very nice PVT Special Registration EPA196 Engine UMB379 two seat special, it is advertised on the VSCC web site.
I understand considerable work has been carried out over several years, this car has quarter elliptic rear springs & is a nice looking special.
I understand there are a good quantity of spares going with the car.

Vintage, PVT & 2 Litre Forum / PVT Front Stub Axles
February 16, 2014, 19:03:14
It would seem that quite a number of cars may have cracked front stub axles, whilst the Post War Saloon stub axles are virtually the same as the PVT axles it would appear many are exhibiting cracking if crack tested. New forgings can be manufactured with new forging tooling & they can be CNC machined to a high standard in small batches using a higher grade of steel, & some slight design changes such as root radi to strengthen critical areas so offering a stronger axle such as has been done with the AC Ace/Aceca axles!

How many people would purchase a set of new forged & machined stub axles if the Club were to arrange there manufacture with a reputable UK company?

AC Weller Engine / New Cast Iron Cylinder Heads
January 18, 2014, 14:22:24
What interest is there for new cast iron heads? I will be putting an article in AC Action about this but it would be good to know how many owners would be interested in purchasing new cast iron heads.
I am prepared to consider a one off batch.

November 25, 2011, 18:14:36
I regret to inform members that Jon Sichel's Wife informed me this afternoon that Jon died last night of a severe heart attack.
He will be clearly missed by his family & the many people who know Jon.
I have no further information & would ask people to take care contacting the family until they are able to deal with matters.

   Jon is a great loss.

Orson Have new sets of front hubs & due to the obsolete outer bearing this is re-specified with a larger Cup O/D to suit the new modified hubs. A point also to note is that the old specification bearings have a very thin wall on the cup & in the case of one of my old hubs the cup is severely cracked.
The bearings numbers for these new Orson Hubs is as follows-
Timken 21075/21212 & 14125a/14274, you will also need an oil seal which originally was felt face fitting, so you may need to check what is available.
I have provided this information to Orson to assist there customers.
This is following a request for information from them.

I have been asked several times if i can supply replacement shell bearings for the engines, unfortunately these are not now available in the after market which leaves owners with a serious problem.
One solution is to invest in a new Crankshaft & find bearing shells to fit the housings, this is expensive.
It might be possable to have a special batch of bearings produced but this is going to be expensive & will require the support of the club & owners to fund it, i am investigating this & will make a proposal if i am able to get a manufacturer to quote!
Another option which may be possable is to find some existing shells which could be adapted to fit the housings which would offer the journal diameters required, i have some details i am investigating but it will probably require block line boring of the main housings & grinding the journals to suit.
It would help if the owners could indicate what solutions they have devised to this problem.

I am having patterns made for the Bell Housing to suit the AC Engine & Gearbox & would like to have bosses cast on the side to fix the slave cylinder too.
Can anybody send to me photographs & dimensional details of the fixing bracket for the slave cylinder?
I understand the original design was a fabrication bolted the the flange.

What experience do owners have of the hydraulic pressures & for how long do they hold pressure?
I am advised that normal pressure is about 100-PSI is that what owners find?
Just fitted my system on 16/80 so any 16/80 owners could assist.

   Thanks
