The ACOC National Day and Concours will be on Sunday 26th May 2024 at the newly opened Great Northern Classics, (www.greatnorthernclassics.co.uk) facility in Derby.

This year the Club is not only celebrating its 75th anniversary, making it one of the oldest single make car clubs in the UK, it will be celebrating many other AC landmarks.

There will be a static display of AC cars including the Jack Sears 'Black Flag' race winning AC Cobra '39 PH', the AC Cobra Coupe produced by AC Cars for Le Mans, tested by Peter Bolton and Jack Sears, on the M1, at 185 mph, and the AC Aceca once owned by Sir Donald Campbell, plus several more AC cars from years gone by.

The event begins at 10.30hrs, with the gates open at 09.30hrs; the day will include several talks on the marque with a tour of the Great Northern Classics facility open to all. The Club Concours will be held at lunchtime with awards at 14.30hrs and the event concludes at 15.00hrs. Lunch and refreshments will be available.

The event is open to everyone, not just AC members, with an admission charge of £12 per person payable on the day.

For those considering making a weekend visit to Derbyshire there is a Club Meal arranged on the Saturday evening, 25th May, at the Priest House Hotel, Castle Donington. The Club has reserved rooms at the hotel too. Details of which can be found in ACtion.

For further information please contact the event coordinator; Leo Archibald, E: leo.archibald@gmail.com Tel: 07419 128885.

3000ME OWNERS' MEETING
SUNDAY 24TH SEPTEMBER 2023
DE HAVILLAND AIRCRAFT MUSEUM, SALISBURY HALL, LONDON COLNEY, HERTFORDSHIRE, AL2 1BU

I know it has been a long time in coming.

The museum holds frequent car club events so we should be well looked after. It's not every day you the chance to see Mosquito too!

Please make the effort to attend, preferably in your ME, to meet fellow owners and share experiences/knowledge.

At the last count there were 83 MEs in the UK, it would be good if ten percent could make this event.

More details will be made available much nearer the date.

Now is the time to be positive and get that MOT.

The event is open to all AC owners as well, more the merrier!

(This advert will be appearing in future editions of ACtion and will be on 3000ME website forum and on the 3000ME Facebook page.)

The Club has been invited for AC Owners to attend this event.

If the weather is good, it can be popular, and some 1000 to 2000 members of the public have attended such days in the past.  Organisers are in the process of arranging for a Spitfire and/or Hurricane of the BBMF to make a flypast sometime during the day, and the site has good facilities etc grass parking for the car display.

This is a fundraising event – so whilst there is no entry charge, everyone attending is expected to make some kind of donation.  Limited space for ~100 Vintage/Classic vehicles (and for the sake of variety), also limiting each Vintage or Classic type to 5-10 parking spaces (on a first come, first served basis).

Should you wish to attend please contact the organiser, BGFC Event Organisation Team, by 10th May latest. You will need to advise car details, ie vehicle registration number before the event – you will then be emailed back an entry disc by return.  Arrival before 9:30am on the day to park up is essential please - to avoid/mitigate congestion risk on the local road(s).  Because of the terms of the event insurance, the event will close at 5pm that evening.

3000ME Forum / ME166 Auction 23rd Nov 2016.
October 24, 2016, 11:34:27
Here's the link to Brightwells:
   www.brightwells.com/classic-motoring/auc...mber-2016/catalogue/

James at Brightwells comments: 'This is the third one we have sold in the last three years and is very attractively estimated bearing in mind that the last two we sold made £19,800 and £21,100 respectively! I would appreciate it if you could put the word out among club members just in case anyone fancies adding another one to their collection'.

The AC Scotland factory in Glasgow where of course they built the ME may possible be pulled down before too long. The existing tenants have been served notice to leave. So, several ME owners are visiting the site on Tuesday 22 May. At least one Scottish ME will attend (all being well). We are meeting at the site at midday.
It has to be a week day as the building is closed over the weekend.
If you should like to join us please reply to this message.

General Forum / New West Midlands ACOC Meeting
September 19, 2011, 23:33:28
Peter Vale and I have got together to try to organise a West Midlands meeting of AC owners and have therefore decided to offer an inaugural meeting on the first Tuesday of October, the 4th. It will be held at "The Flyford Arms" Inn, Flyford Flavell, Worcestershire, WR74DA.

The Flyford Arms is very easy to find, being on the A422 Alcester to Worcester road, about 3 miles west of Inkberrow. The proprietor Stephen Brittain is delighted we have chosen his pub as a venue and can offer bar snacks to full a la carte restaurant if necessary. Telephone 01905 381890 for reservations. There is plenty of parking space and we hope members will be encouraged to come and enjoy themselves for an informal gathering and a natter over a pint.

Please let me know if you intend joining us so I can have any idea of numbers.
