428 Frua Forum / Cobras across the pond
March 17, 2009, 15:43:42
Greetings,

Many thanks to Jim Maxwell for sharing these photos of the all AC Deliverance Tour 2008 held in the Appalachian Mountains. Jim's MkII and MkIII participated. Jim's MkIII is an original 428. There is a rare green AC289 with left had drive and also an unusual red AC with rear air ducts.

Happy Holidays to all,

I am looking for a part source for two items. The interior light lens or assembly between the seats and the rear fender guards.

428 Frua Forum / Thames Ditton & Carrol Shelby
December 12, 2008, 19:52:27
Yesterday, a client of mine told me he once worked for Carrol Shelby. He told me he was in charge of Shelby's international marketing and rented the AC factory (or a portion of it) at Thames Ditton after AC had vacated. Does anyone know anything about this information.

428 Frua Forum / The Mitty
April 07, 2008, 16:53:50
To All,

I posted a similar topic on the Mk IV forum. The 31 year of The Mitty will be held at Road Atlanta May 2-4. The theme of this years event is Ford Power. There should be a number of vintage Cobras on display and participating in the vintage races.

Please go to: http://speedfest.classicmotorsports.net/ for details.

   Best regards,

To All,

The Mitty at Road Atlanta is May 2-4, Ford Power is the theme this year. Lots of vintage Fords. Should be a number of Cobras in the historic races. I remember watching the 289's and 427's racing when they were not vintage. Should be a great show.

Does any one know how many Autokraft MK IV's were built? If so, how many are in the US? I have seen quite a few different numbers.

   Thanks,

[8D]I recently attended my first judged car show held by the Savannah Mustang Club. It was an all Ford event. AK1131 took 1st Place in the "Classic Ford" category! All hail the MKIV.

My firewall insulation was the only thing on my MKIV that was looking shabby. On the internet, I found Heatshield Products thermal barrier foil cloth rated to 1,100 degrees part number 721505 chrome. It has an adheisive backing. The installation was tedious but pretty easy. great success and look. The supplier is www.paceperformance.com.

General Forum / Barn Finds
July 31, 2007, 16:44:23
[:)]To all, this is not particularly an AC item but should be of interest. I was sent these photos by a client. The story goes that a gentleman from New York bought a farm in Portugal for the back taxes. On the property was a large barns with the doors welded shut. After taking possession of the farm The gentleman and his wife cut the doors open. Please click on: www.intuh.net/barnfinds/afa70.htm for the best barn find I have ever seen. I think there may be an AC in the bunch.

My MKIV is a 1986 model with little rubber bumpers on the front bumper overrides. I figure this was to meet US specs. Anybody else with rubber bumpers? Any more info?

   Thanks,

My MKIV is in excellent condition all but the firewall insulation. It is OK but not perfect. Does anyone have a source for the material? You know, the foil stuff.

Has anyone change the insulation? If so, please share your experience?

   Thank you,

I have been corrosponding with a gentleman named Roy regarding his 1993 Autokraft MKIV. Roy bought the MKIV new and is ready to sell. He told me the engine has been modified and the car has some lightweight features. To contact Roy, his email is: katem4@verison.net.

To all, I posted an inquiry on the MK IV forum regarding a car advertised on Ebay as a 1977 AC / Autokraft. Please read my inquiry and reply and comment.

   Thank you,

Can anyone tell me about this car. It was advertises last year. The seller emailed me a CSX number plate. Is this car real, clone, copy or bogus. I contacted SAAC last year with the CSX number. They flipped out and told me that number lived in Californian. I am not an expert but the car does look real.
