There's a 16/60 coupe on eBay with is purported to be 1 of 3 made:

Anyone know if this is factual, or where they would have come up with this statistic? Any guesses on what the car is actually worth (other than 'whatever someone is wiling to pay...')

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Ace AC thermostat
August 24, 2015, 02:49:52
My Ace seems to actually be running too cool, so I'm guessing I need to replace the thermostat - either there is none in the housing, or it's stuck open. What cars used the equivalent thermostat and gasket? TR2 looks similar from the parts diagram, anyone know for sure?

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Ace sun visor???
August 22, 2015, 21:30:28
Does anyone know of a source for a sun visor that would fit my flat-screen Ace without any modifications to the windscreen frame? I want to afix one of the tinted-plexiglass type,  basically need brackets that attach to the top windscreen rail in some fashion.

   Anyone gone thru this before?

My car has been weeping some oil, and it seems to be coming from the oil pump cover, so I am making a new gasket from cork to replace the old paper gasket (see the pictures). Before I reinstall, what are the thoughts on using gasket sealer or not on this gasket?

   With cover removed

Old gasket on the left, new made-up gasket on the right

Can anyone tell me, based on the pictures below, if the angle for the actuator rod from the clutch slave cylinder is typical for what others see on their Ace? I've had an intermittent problem of when I release the clutch pedal, nothing happens - the clutch doesn't engage. I thought it might be the cylinder itself, but before I replace that, want to see if the angle as shown is typical, or if somehow mine has been altered, causing it to hang periodically.

Does anyone know if all early Aces (mine is AEX217) came with the slotted chrome finishing plates that the windscreen posts go thru to the body? My car just has rubber gaskets there, and not sure if it ever had the chrome plates or not. Is there any source for these? I'm sure I could get some made up in required also.

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Racing screen?
June 06, 2015, 20:18:57
Now that I have the windshield off to replace it, I'm kind of digging the sportier look the car has without it. Does anyone know who might make a full-width plexi racing screen that I could install with no modification, so I could go back to the original version whenever I want?

I'm trying to replace the leaky pinion seal on my Ace. Have the driveshaft disconnected, but there is no way to get an impact wrench on the castle nut that holds the flange to the differential shaft. Does anyone have a trick about how to get the nut off?????? Pretty tight working quarters under there.

Is there any commercial source for a windshield for a flat-screen Ace, or do I need to get one custom made?

OK, is there a special grease gun/fitting that allows me to grease the front and rear hubs on my Ace? The nipple is so close to the inner edge of the hub that a standard grease gun coupler won't fit as there isn't enough room. In the past I've ground down the edge of a coupler to almost nothing to get it on there, and that invariably breaks after 1 or 2 uses. There must be an alternative. Even the grease gun that came with the car (the push type) won't fit. Anyone know a gun that will actually fit in there?????

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / AEX416 sells
June 27, 2014, 18:37:51
For anyone interested, Bonham's just sold AEX416 for a hammer price of 130,000 pounds, all in 147,100, or about $250K USD.

Glad I already have mine, could never afford to buy one now!

As it happens, now I need to also replace the front wheel cylinders on AEX127.  Does anyone know if these are the 1" bore, or the 7/8" bore? Both were used on the AH BN1 which is what the interchange lists calls out, so not sure which to order.

Just recently, my clutch seems to be not quite engaging completely, or once in a while- at all! It is inconsistent - seems like maybe the clutch slave isn't retracting completely. I have no issue when I depress the clutch and engage a gear, but often once engaged, I seem to feel almost a secondary small engagement, and as I I said, a few times when I release the clutch nothing happens. What say the Forum, bad slave cylinder?

Has anyone had any experience with the speed bleeder brake cylinder bleed valves:

Look interesting, I'm thinking of fitting a set to my Ace.

I have a friend looking for a project Ace or Ace Bristol, doesn't even have to be a complete car. Anyone know of any for sale?

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Aceca AEX 673 eBay
February 10, 2014, 00:59:42
AEX673, a major project, has surfaced on eBay (https://tinyurl.com/kegon29). As a former owner of Aceca AEX672, interesting to see this one come on the market. Anyone have history on the car?

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Hi res AC logo?
January 30, 2014, 02:19:46
Does anyone have a hi-res jpg, tiff, or png of the old club AC logo (not this new one)? I'd like both the old club logo, and the standard AC logo by itself.

OK, managed to get the drum off the right rear, and as expected, I have leaky brake cylinder. The shoes have absorbed the fluid, so I want to replace the shoes and the cylinder. I thought I had a parts interchangeability document around, but can't seem to locate it. I thought I recalled that the brake shoes are the same as for an Austin Healey 100? Can anyone confirm? And where can I either locate a replacement Right side Girling 412840 wheel cylinder, or a rebuild kit?

   Thanks for any help.
