It would be nice to have a listing for Pre War AC's, would any owners like to make a entry on the web pages so we can gather any information?

Vintage, PVT & 2 Litre Forum / AC Engine Head Gaskets

I am pleased to report that i have arranged for a new source of Copper/asbestos type head gaskets with a Vintage engine company in the UK called Cox & Turner Engineering.
These are made to the AC Drawing & have a special central complient material which is supported by what i believe is a stainless core mesh, they as yet are un-tested, however they are of very good quality having recieved the initial sample.
The cost is £80 each which in the current market is a good price, i do not stock these & they are available from Cox & Turner direct.
Contact John Cox on Phone/Fax 01425 652 627, i believe this represents a good price. Cox & Turner have supplied gaskets for land Rovers for some time with good reports.
I am awaiting a new Tanged Graphite developement as an alternative to Copper & will put details on my web site later.

Does anybody have any Factory information on the use of Aluminium Heads in the Vintage period fitted to the 6-cylinder Weller engines?
The club has a record of a 1926 2-seater special being fitted but i need AC Factory records of this which may be in the form of the original documentation issued to the customer or an options list if such still is available.
It would be nice to find Chassis Number 13335 which is documented by the club as being fitted!

   I hope you can assist

   Regards

For needle selection there is a site which compares various needles for a given jet size '  www.mintylamb.co.uk/suneedle  ' This came from an MG Octagon Car Club Site.
Its worth a look as it graphs the various needle sizes with each other.
If you have trouble locating the site put the address into a search engine!

Dear All
I am trying to locate the present owner of a 1926 Acedes FS Edge Special which had an Aluminium head fitted to the Weller 6- cylinder engine, Chassis Number 13335, engine number R21/1986.
This is to have it verified by the VSCC as an optional fitting to the Vintage cars, i believe i have located an Aluminium head which is fitted to the GN Semmence Special which i will lokk at shortly.
If all goes well i am hoping to have the VSCC accept the heads a standard & not catagorise as 'special' any engines hwo have new Aluminium heads fitted.
   Your assistance would be apprciated.
