CSX2000, the first EVER Cobra is coming to market.

According to CLASSIC DRIVER the "most significant American Car of them all (discuss [8D]) is consigned to RM's Monterey Auction in August!

In the July 2106 issue of "ClassicCars" magazine, there's a fantastic article on the life of Ron Thorp's Cobra from delivery as a brand new( used...wink wink[;)])car to the present day, Dad & I met Ron & Ron jr at Goodwood in 2012 and were in awe of Ron's tales of traversing Australia with the Cobra, and seeing him driving his Cobra into the grid holding paddock at the Revival was a truly wonderful moment. It`s that time of year again, the TOUR AUTO runs from the 18th to the 24th of April, from Paris to Cannes, pitting 230+ crew & cars built between 1951-1973 against themselves and the stunning French scenery!

2016 marks the 25th anniversary of the modern 'Tour de France', and to celebrate this, there will be a night section on the Saturday featuring 2 stages, just in case the drivers and co-drivers wouldn`t be fatigued enough after 5 days and 1,200 miles of competition!

The main focus of my reports will be Shaun Lynn & Kevin Kivlochan in the Cobra; Bronze last year, Gold in 2014, but what will they take home from the Silver Anniversary Tour Auto? Bookmark this page to follow the action!
There are 8 Cobras, 5 AC Aces and an Aceca which I will also try to record, but Shaun & Kevin`s main competition comes from 4 GT40s and the usual Jaguar and Lotus crews.
Please join with me wishing Shaun & Kevin the best of luck, and all the competitors a fun & safe event.

For much more detail, visit the Official Tour Auto website.

This looked like an ACtion article to me, but I`ve had checked the Jun 2013 and Aug 2001 articles which are the only ones that reference 1963 LeMans in the (Excellent) ACtion Archive(back to 2000, much earlier than that was b&w print)and it`s neither of them.... Any ideas where this photo & text where published please?

AND what the hell was going on with those rear lights?! [:0]

General Forum / HAPPY CHRISTMAS 2015
December 25, 2015, 07:23:29

   HAPPY CHRISTMAS ALL!

Thanks to all of you that I`ve spent time with this year for making 2015  a special one; Keith, special thanks for Goodwood Revival, the 6 Daytonas was an obvious highlight, but spending time with Pete Brock was SERIOUSLY cool!

The NEC display was as good for the company as it was for the array of AC`s on display, thanks to Tony & Jeremy once again, and John, I promise I will polish the new addition to the garage, if I can stop Mum driving it long enough to get a chammy on it!

My VERY best wishes for the year to come,

Nik Bagshaw (and the Wrinkly Racer...her words, NOT mine!!![:D])

Stumbled across this FORD ROTUNDA STAR DIAGNOSTIC TESTER on eBay, which is described as having been used on all MkIv`s and 5litre Aces!

   Useful to anyone?

   No connection to seller.

Posted on behalf of Rob Krantz:
"I was at Images Auto Body in Campbell, CA where I saw this AC 428.

The body shop said the owner is an Italian car enthusiast and they are going to restore the AC for the owner.  Obviously not an Italian car!  Italian body of course. I did not get the chassis number. It is RHD and an automatic transmission. Looks to be in generally nice shape but is in for new paint.

The Frua is now in a holding area keeping company with a Lamborghini Miura!

Not pretty but I guess it fits the bill until some of the cars are ready for work.

The Miura is stripped down to bare metal awaiting paint. Some Tigers there too.  Saw a pontoon fender Testa Rosa there last year!  This shop does world class restorations on E Types...A number of Pebble Beach cars.

As I write, almost 300 Classic Cars and their teams of racers are preparing themselves for 4 days flat-out through the French countryside, Starting from the Grand Palais in Paris.

This year, Shaun Lynn & Kevin Kivlochan defend their 2014 crown in the 1963 Cobra that took them to victory after several years of trying, and I will try to keep you up to date with their progress over the next 5 days!

It appears to be happening more and more, the whole forum was down last week as our admins dealt with a similar event(Thanks Chaps!).

May I suggest we all increase our password crypticness, with numbers & capitals to keep these beggars out!

Following a year`s break, (...and I`m sure Kevin told me "Never Again!" [;)]) Shaun Lynn and Kevin Kivlochan are competing in the Tour Auto across France.
Details of their last attendance in 2012 HERE:.
Updates below courtesy of Russell from ONI:

    Hi Everybody,

I'm Russell Brown and I work with Kevin Kivlochan.

This year it's back to the AC Cobra for Kevin and Shaun. As usual Kevin will be working the maps and Shaun will be driving. They have won in this car before so fingers crossed.

As usual there is a Tour Auto website where you can see more photos & updates.
There is also a new iPhone App that you can download from the App Store for updates on times.

The cars were on display at Le Grand Palais in Paris on Monday, then set off for the first road stage at Vaux le Vicomte.

The teams were all up early Tuesday morning for the departure.

The day ends in Dijon after a few laps of the track at Dijon –Prenois.

   Dear AC Owners Club,

The Cholmondeley Pageant of Power – June 13th-15th 2014

Club Area sponsored by Morris Lubricants

Last year's Pageant of Power at Cholmondeley Castle was blessed with good weather and it was fantastic to have over 60 clubs attending.

Click photo to view video highlights gallery

Plans are progressing nicely for our Italian themed 2014 event where we will also be celebrating Maserati's 100th anniversary.  Our track entry will be the most exciting and diverse ever and of course our air and water displays are set to thrill.

We are delighted to announce that Status Quo will be playing live at our opening concert on Friday 13th June.

Rik Parfitt is an ardent petrolhead and we hope to get him on track over the weekend.  His son, Rik Parfitt Junior is set to drive a GT40 - so watch this space.  You may have seen the press release, but incase not, Rik Parfitt said "The Cholmondeley Pageant of Power is all about noise, engine fumes and having some serious fun.  Works for me! Whilst all the band love cars and the world of motoring, I have been a serious petrolhead for as long as I can remember.  As well as getting to perform for what we know will be a great crowd, being in amongst the action with some serious machinery is going to be a real buzz for me!  Cars, bikes, helicopters - count me in!"

So, this year's Pageant of Power is set to rock and we do hope you will be able to join us.
There are special discounted prices for Club members and friends.

There is no limit on the number of vehicles displaying on each club pitch, although for guidance we would ask that you indicate the expected required pitch size on the booking form.

We would urge your members to take advantage of the heavily discounted 3 day package which this year includes the Status Quo concert on the Friday evening (Fireworks concert tickets on the Saturday night are also discounted).

I do hope you will be able to join us for what promises to be an unforgettable weekend.

    Best regards
   Pippa Lomax
