Interesting! I look forward to more details of the Inaugural event next May...
I know a couple of people who have done other Classic Car Tours events, and rate them highly.
Watch this space!
We are running an event at The Rest & Be Thankful on Sunday 29th September, all Cobras are welcome.

Hope to see some ACOC members and their Cobras on the 29th.
I wish we could attend this, but circumstances are working against us. [:(]
It looks like a really nice event, especially now that the road has been resurfaced!
We are still accepting late entries for The Rest & Be Thankful event up until Thursday 26th September.
It's going to be a great day out and perhaps the last chance to use your Cobra this season.

WHOOOPEEEEE!!!! Due to an amazing change of circumstances, I can now go, albeit without the star of the poster. [:(]
Looking forward to seeing you and Phil at the weekend :)
Yes! I've made a last minute booking and picked up Nik Bagshaw along the way to share the drive!
Plus, I've just heard Barrie Bird is taking A98, Le Mans AC Cobra Coupe [:)] – With the other Cobras, Mustangs, Tigers, GT40s and even an F1 car, it's going to be quite an event!
Fantastic to get to see A98 out & about, I` really can`t wait, not put off by the fact it`s an 800+ mile round trip especially as most of it`s in a Cobra.
Phil, you are a gentleman of the highest order....can`t thank you enough for this. [8D]
Nik, don't mention it. Anyway, by the end of Monday you might have had enough of me and the Cobra, as you're going to be doing most of the driving.
At the risk of sounding repetitious...
WHOOOPEEEE!!!!!!
Thus far, the weather looks like being very un-Scottish for the time of year, what`s that expression about the sun shining on the righteous?
Careful Phil - ol' Leadfoot Bagshaw is beginning to hyperventilate. It might be a long weekend :)
The midges will calm him down/subdue him. I will get my contact on site to release a few boxes of fresh ones.
Graham

Now you'll appreciate what us Scots go through to get to Silverstone & Le Mans in our Cobras.[;)]
See you on Sunday. [:)]
Thanks for the offer of extra midgies, Graham, I`ll take an extra toothbrush!
My breathing is back to normal now, having endured ITV`s usualRevival coverage. [|)]
It`ll be good to see you again Clive, you were missed at Silverstone. [:)]
After years of nagging I finally persuaded one of my car company clients to allow a car brochure photo-shoot in Scotland. I found a perfect location alongside a loch. It was there I was introduced to the Scottish midge - I can assure you I was neither calmed down nor subdued!! Never been back since....and whose idea was it to park Scotland so far north?
So far North? I blame the Romans. Apart from that, what have they ever done for us?
Straight roads, underfloor heating, orgies.... oh well, 2 out of 3 ain`t bad!!!
Looking forward to seeing shots of Nick & Barrie driving like Kenny Brack whilst negotiating the "bouse de vache".
Graham
In someone else`s Cobra, I`ll be driving more like Kenny Rogers than Kenny Brack...[:0]
[edit]Erm...perhaps I should clarify that statement. I`m thinking 'Coward of the County', not 'You picked a fine time to leave me Loose wheel'!!! [;)][xx(]
You can drive like Kenny Brack if you wish. Just keep it on the black stuff. Now, I must remember to nip the wheels up. See you in the morning :)
Forecast is looking good! http://midgeforecast.co.uk/home
Would this be a nuisance level 3 encounter?
Yum.
(As long as thats only midges, and not chunks of the "bouse de vache", or even merde de mouton!!)[:p]
I've seen better photos of you Nik :)
A great day was had at The Rest & Be Thankful, fantastic weather and not a midge in sight.

Trevor,
I should have took heed. The weekend was long and the name "leadfoot Bagshaw" is very apt indeed. Remind me never to let Nik give chase, when a certain Mr. Bird goes tearing-off in his AC Coupe, down a long, fast, twisting road! My nerves are still shot to pieces [:I]
I constantly hand out free advice but do they ever listen???
This being the first Cobra Drivers Club event, we were blessed with fantastic sunny weather. This is me at the finish [:)]
We now plan to run this as an annual event, so watch out for more details coming soon for your 2014 diary.

I've just updated my Flickr page with some photos from the RABT event:

Looks like the timing of this event couldn`t have been better...if it had been last weekend it would have been VERY DIFFERENT (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-24365167)!

I have a feeling your heavy right foot caused the landslide Nik ![:D]
Aaron, I think you're spot on! I've never known the car get through so much fuel, so quickly ;)
[:I]
Hey Nik,
It was worth every penny :)
But, I think you should lend a hand in the landslide clean-up operation.
Indeed it was. I wouldn`t change a second of the whole weekend....
Well, maybe a cleaner negotiation of the hairpin!!!
Now, pass me that shovel.
He went to Scotland and broke it. Told you so.....

Sorry Nik, but I couldn't resist posting your mishap at the hairpin [}:)]
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9HJKjX83t28
Who put those cones there???? At least I got most of the way around it, unlike those long skidmarks heading for the precipice!
The cones mark the old R&BT road, with the other new bit behind the cones for lorries/buses who cant manage the hairpin on the regular road if a convoy has to run up there.
Graham
Oh Nik, you kept that one quiet ;-)
Well, I tried! In my defence, We hadn`t seen the course & I hadn`t practised hard stops & hairpins in Phil`s Cobra.
Had it been my car, I would have given it an extra bootful of juice & powered the back around, and left big snakey 11`s all the way over the finishline...
Be honest Nik, you forgot to take your morning dose of Red Bull so you could drive like young Sebby Vettel (or 'Finger-Boy Juice' as it's known....)

Smelt more Clutchey than rubbery to me![:o)]
True, true...
Here's my latest video clip from this same event:
Nik took charge of my Ram Cobra and went in hot pursuit of Barrie's AC Cobra Coupe, along a 40 miles stretch of road to Inveraray Castle.
I'm afraid you'll have to excuse the shaky handheld camera shots... and the odd swear word – I'm such a bad passenger [:I]
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOSz6PAGkAU
The shakey camera makes it look much faster than it actually was, I don`t think we went above 57mph the whole trip, officer. [;)]
Phil, Sue has recommended some new racing overalls for you, hope you like brown corduroy!!!

My hat's off to June... She must have nerves of steel!

I'm guessing when June realised Nik was tailing them, she probably told Barrie to put his foot down [:D]
