I just thought some of you may be interested to know that an AC Ace Bristol, registration 50 FPF, chassis BE441, is up for auction at the Silverstone Classic on 23rd July. 50 FPF was campaigned in period and featured on the April 1959 Autosport front cover. It also features in the 'Ace Bristol Racing' book.
50 FPF won three races at Silverstone in 1958 and 1959 and was heavily campaigned during this period. Having been through a number of prominent collectors through the years, this highly original Ace is presented in very good order having benefitted from an engine rebuild by Ian Nuttal in 2004 and complete ground-up restoration by Hexagon Classics Chairman, Paul Michaels in the mid-1980s.
