I expect the car is well known, but given the current state of the car market this vintage AC might be a bargain for someone.

It is not on the club register so thanks for the link.
It is in the Vintage register but the licence number is recorded wrongly, as reported in my article some years back in 'Action' ('Notes on some of the remaining vintage AC 6-cylinder cars'):
14844 (PN 2782)
The vintage register has the registration number recorded incorrectly (PH 2782). It was a nice surprise
to be sent photos of this car after so many years of it laying low. It not only survives but also is being
used on the road. It was photographed in a car park near Ipswich, Suffolk in 2016 and this year is still
shown as taxed, payment exempt, by the DVLA. Like the previous car it has the taller radiator, fitted
from 1928, though this car is a 2-3-seater model. The wings may be incorrect, the photos making them
appear a little too wide but this may be due to angle, otherwise the car looks very original.
PS can now confirm the wings are incorrect, in shape and size.
Thanks - in that case the car number is also recorded incorrectly. The auction site lists it as 14544 (not 14844), confirmed by the close up photo of the maker's plate.
Yes, the car's production and registration numbers both recorded wrongly on the register.
Note:
(1) colour, as described years back
(2) the Zenith carb (as on the register, and non-original)
(3) the two spare wheels (unusual, and a special order from factory, as recorded on the register)
(4) the engine number is visible in the photos and is the same as register.
It is the same car.
The car didn't sell at the auction.
